Game Development Internship (Leading to Job)

Responsibilities

• Assist in defining initial storylines and character biographies
• Convert artistic ideas into efficient and functional game code
• Develop the base engine to run games
• Create storyboards and game scripts
• Work on the audio and graphic designs
• Collaborate with designers to animate game characters
• Write and execute unit tests for quality assurance
• Maintain code, identify bottlenecks, and fix bugs in the applications
• Document game specifications and operating instructions

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• Fresh to 6 months of experience in game development (rare exceptions for highly skilled developers)
• Good understanding of latest gaming trends, technologies, and best practices
• General working knowledge of programming languages like C#, C++
• Basic working knowledge of game engines like Unreal and Unity
• Understanding in areas such as artificial intelligence, 3D animation, 3D Rendering, multiplayer/networking, graphics, scripting, etc
• Exceptionally high learning attitude and flexible personality

Good to haves

• Understanding of the game production pipeline process
• Excellent problem solving and graphic design skills
• Strong troubleshooting and project management skills
